1 hour, Singing or Acting with Studio Staff — $50.00
Acting students are accepted at the instructor’s discretion, with age and skill level as factors. We encourage our students to pursue acting and singing as complementary disciplines, when appropriate. Voice students accepted into our acting studio may add on a 30-minute or 1 hour acting lesson for $10.*
Payment and cancellation policies: We do not require advance payment, and lessons may be paid for week-to-week or any other arrangement that works for both the student and for us. Please note that for cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance, we ask for full payment. We will make exceptions for emergencies and unsafe weather conditions on a case-by-case basis.
Please note, we often have a waiting list for voice lessons, especially for after school and weekend slots. Due to breaks or cancellations, single time slots may sometimes be available to students who are on the waiting list. Students with a flexible daytime schedule (homeschoolers, etc.) may be able to obtain a regular lesson time more quickly. Please contact us to find out the current state of our waiting list!
*Hour-long acting lessons may sometimes be shared, in part, with another student, in order to accommodate schedules and more variety of material.
Melinda’s remote-only studio rate for students outside Western MA is $50.00 for a 50-minute lesson or $35 for a 30-minute lesson. Contact Melinda directly to book a lesson or get more information.
Group Lessons Small group lessons (2-4 students) in singing or acting are sometimes available at a reduced fee. Beginning students, in particular, may benefit from the low pressure and camaraderie of a small group lesson and the opportunity to learn from other students at their own skill level. Please contact us to discuss whether a group lesson would be an appropriate option for you or your child. Singing lessons are taught by Jan, Melinda, or both, depending on schedules and individual student needs. Acting lessons are taught by Melinda and/or special guests. Note: Student interns may be present in any lesson.
Read more about our core staff and regular guest artists here. My son has been involved with Act Too Studio for several years now. I am blown away by how much he has learned about singing and vocal control from Jan Klump and Melinda Beasi and how much he has learned about character motivation and scene analysis from Bob Klump in his acting work. But even more than the skill development, I am incredibly grateful for the way that Jan, Melinda, and Bob teach and model the dedication and commitment required of an artist, as well as the joy and community that develops through this hard work and focus.
